Complete Well-Being
The benefits of massage therapy have been known for thousands of years. Today, more and more people are beginning to realize the importance of massage therapy in maintaining a healthy body.
The body has the ability to heal itself when it’s properly maintained. Blood circulation, oxygen and lymphatic system all play a major role in helping the body processes nutrients and eliminate toxins. Massage therapy can “tune-up” your body by allowing it to work efficiently. Lower back pain is common & can become a problem, but it's time to feel better with the right treatment & plan of action.
At TRMT Massage Therapy in Houston, TX, we understand the health benefits of a regular massage routine and all the factors that affect overall good health. Massages can help reduce stress, aid in healing injuries and relieve chronic pain. It is our goal to help you on the path to a better, healthier you.

Stress
Stress
Research has shown that 80% of health issues are stress related. Why is that? Simply put, stress inhibits the body’s natural ability to supply nutrients and eliminate harmful toxins. During stressful events, the body produces cortisol, often referred to as a “stress hormone.” High levels of cortisol in the bloodstream causes vessels to shrink. High and prolonged levels of cortisol in the bloodstream have been shown to have negative effects, such as:
- High blood pressure
- Heart problems
- Trouble sleeping or concentrating
- Headaches
- Depression and anxiety
- Digestive problems
- Muscle tightness and pain
- Chronic fatigue
- Suppressed thyroid function
- Lymphatic Massage
Fitness, Sports and Injury
Fitness, Sports and Injury
Injury, fitness and joint health are affected by fascia tissues -- muscle, tendons and connective tissue. Fascia is a tough connective tissue that encompasses the muscles and the entire skeletal and immune systems. Healthy fascia allows the body to stretch and move freely. It is surrounded by delicate nerves and blood vessels that feed oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. Restricted fascia causes structural imbalances that may cause injury, affect fitness routines and limit joint movement.
Exercise, training, or sports activities can cause muscle tension, chronic inflammation and, in some cases, activate trigger points. These activities force the body to require more oxygen and nutrients as well as produce a metabolic waste known as lactic acids. Massage improves blood circulation and allows the removal of metabolic waste. Massage therapy allows muscles to relax, pain to decrease and aids in:
- Frozen shoulder
- Joint sprain
- Muscle strain, spasms and cramps
- Muscular bruising
Muscles and fascia are interconnected with the circulatory system running in between. Injuries are most likely to occur when this system is imbalanced. When an injury or trauma occurs, neurological activity increases and compression or restriction cuts off circulation and nutrients causing pain and immobility. Restriction affects the entire skeletal system. The trauma is treated by stabilizing neurological activity and stimulating the circulatory system. Symptoms associated with fascia imbalances are:
- Chronic pain
- Myofascial pain
- Scar tissue
- Neck and back pain
- Pulled muscle
- cellulite reduction
- Corrective body alignment
